| Acrylic Flow Release is a surfactant. Its role in painting is to "make water wetter" by reducing the surface tension of the water in the acrylic emulsion. Artists can thin paints with a less than 1% solution of Acrylic Flow Release (AFR) and water to create stains for application to raw canvas. Artists may experience better brush flow by adding this AFR solution to their paint, even if they do not thin down to a stain. |
