| In merry olde England in 1847 a British confectioner started selling sugared almonds each with a motto as love tokens. It just so happened that one Christmas day a jet of resin from the confectioner s log fire burst into flame with a loud "crack". Ever the inventive sort he decided to make a log shaped package that would produce a surprising bang and inside would be an almond and a motto. It soon became a party favorite and toys and hats were added to each cracker. By 1900 crackers were a well-established Yuletide custom. Since that time crackers have become popular at all types of celebrations. These are elegantly wrapped in gold foil but fun nevertheless!10 Crackers Each 8 1/2" L Each cracker contains: a tissue party hat snap joke and a specially selected novelty gift Handmade in the UK Not suitable for children under 3 years |
