In a pump system a reservoir supplies the water while the pump supplies the brewing pressure. This model demonstrates the optimal pressure level of 15 bar. The Thermoblock system heats the water to approximately 195 DegreesF. Upon activation of the pump heated water flows through a screen in the brew head and is forced through the coffee contained in a finely perforated metal basket held by the porta-filter. In order to create the necessary resistance for good extraction the coffee should be finely ground and evenly tamped. After brewing the electric pump machine is ready to brew another "shot" of espresso. As with other semi-automatic espresso machines the boiler has a heating system designed not to overheat and operation of this machine is quite easy.
