| Known as "tetsubin" in Japan these traditional cast iron teapots were originally used for brewing tea over an open flame. They have since evolved as tea servers of an extremely decorative nature. Helen Chen personally works with Japanese artists to create a new commemorative Tetsubin Teapot to celebrate and greet each Chinese New Year. The Chinese believe the animal ruling the year in which a person is born has a profound influence on personality saying "This is the animal that hides in your heart." The teapot for 2000 features a raised dragon motif and is enameled in a distinctive red finish.
