| The long stem is not only elegant in appearance but also useful for keeping the hand away from the bowl of the glass - after all warmth is not a friend to champagne. The tall narrow glass is slightly nipped in at the rim and this design encourages the bubbles to remain in the champagne or spumante rather than dispersing too quickly. The pulled stem technology developed by Bormioli Rocco enables the molding of the bowl and the stem into one glass shape without welding. It is therefore possible to achieve more slender profiles and smooth surfaces. This exclusive technology also produces a thin and elegant stem that is very strong. The perfection of the glass structure achieved only by the pulled technology gives the product a great brightness and a high level of refraction to light resulting in almost prismatic effects. In cooperation with the wine experts from AIS (Italian Wine Association of Sommeliers) Bormioli Rocco has produced an impressive line of premium stemware. The prestigious AIS has been involved with the promotion and qualification of fine wines since 1963. Each of the stems within this collection is suited for a particular type of wine in terms of shape and dimension. The result is that each wine s bouquet is fully released and can be fully enjoyed.
