Item # HL204 This short-lived 1871 light was built in what some say was the wrong location, and in 1874, was extinguished. Ownership of the light was transferred to the State of Oregon in 1934. Although plans were made to demolish it in 1946, local citizens rallied to save their beloved lighthouse. The lighthouse is now a museum, operated by the state and local historical society. Retired Dec. 31, 2000.
