That's when big soft snowflakes falling from the sky dance in the light of the street lamps. As they blanket the earth a divine quietness fills the air, a quietness that seems to anticipate the joyful event of Christ's birth. The Snowflake Santa, in his white coat, almost blends into the night as he goes from house to house to deliver his gifts. It is only his red skirt, bordered in big white snowflakes, that stands out against the crystal whiteness of the night. On his back he carries a large basket full to the top with toys, and this generous old man even has extra toys tied to his belt: a brass horn, drum, and a tiny rocking horse. Just as no two snowflakes in the world are alike, no one experiences Christmas in the same exact way and yet we can be sure that every family, child and friend celebrates Christmas in their own way, making and keeping traditions. We are each as unique and beautiful as a snowflake. |
