Item # 25005 c1880 - Before the mid-1800's, only men wore boots, but a new egalitarian spirit soon put them on women's feet as well. With floral designs embroidered on silk, this elegant style was known as the opera boot among cultured circles in France and Italy. Retired January 31, 2001.
