None is known more than Ollie Chester's family that lives in the old tree stump at the end of the lane. A Swiss cheese moon smiles down at the inhabitants of Cranberry Lane where neighbors and friends join together for a winter's night full of pre-Christmas activities. Trees are decorated for the season, voices fill the air with laughter and the lane comes alive with holiday spirit. Pip is the littlest of the Chester family members. Like Billy, her days are also spent playing with her friends. Pip and her friends, Susie and Nadine, aren't old enough to go sledding alone, but once in a while Billy pulls them on his sled, twirling them around the frozen cranberry bog. In the evening, you can always find Pip with her Papa Ollie, listening to him reading her stories. |
