Item #SWC08 Limited production through December 2002.

A discreet roof sign announces the Ocean View Inn. The Victorian Queen Anne structure first opened its doors in 1880, during the first wave of the current boom in summer guests. However, innkeeper Mrs. Endicott fills her twelve clean rooms (the tower is a favorite) at fair rates (as the sign says) year round.

In summer, guests come for aquatic activities; in fall, for the foliage; in winter, for a cozy retreat; and in spring, for the flowers and fresh ocean air. Relaxation is the watchword of the inn. Arriving guests, like banker Ernest Strictlace, leave their luggage by the door to wander the crushed-shell footpaths past benches, hanging swings, a birdbath glinting with water, and an inviting gazebo.
