Item # 506009The Governor's Palace was the grandest house in the colonies when it was completed in 1722. The site of political intrigues and intriguing entertainments, it was lost to fire in 1781 and rebuilt from the cellars up during the darkest years of the Depression. Looking just as it did before the ballroom wing was added in 1750, it is accurate in every detail...from the front steps right up to the cupola's weathervane. Replicated in cast porcelain according to architectural records from the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, each lighted Williamsburg Building is hand-painted in exacting detail to preserve the integrity of the historic landmark and arrives in a stately Williamsburg Signature Keepsake Box for heirloom keeping.
