Item # 40070 Door County is a peninsula on the east coast of Wisconsin that extends out into Lake Michigan. It is the home of Pipka and is her source of much inspiration. The Door County Santa represents much of the history and current activities of this land of orchards, galleries and natural beauty. Early Indian culture is depicted in Santa's peace pipe, medicine bag and his general attire of a woodsman. His basket holds a palette, to represent the many artists that live in Door County, a fishing boat, cherry picking ladder, and of course, Pipka Collectibles. He stands amongst the orchard groves and famous buildings situated on the rocky bluffs of Door County. The Door County Santa is the bridge between the history of the past, the beauty of the present and the hope of the future. Hand painted using up to 20 colors to capture the detail. Made in Poland.
