A NASCAR pit crew is made up of several individuals who work together as one unit - sort of like an NFL team. The driver is like the "quarterback" and the crew chief is the "coach" who calls the shots. Chief is the "coach" of the Coca-ColaCool Crew. He is the man with the plan. Or should we say, the bear with the flair? Chief makes all the important decisions, such as when to pit; whether to take two new tires or four; whether to refuel or gamble that there is enough gas left to carry the #88 car across the finish line. At times, Chief can be a bit hard on his team, and yes, there are those moments when he can be just downright unbearable. But that's ok. His crew loves him anyway and they know Chief is only trying to lead them to a happy place - Victory Lane! |
