A newborn girl seeing her first Hinamatsuri is likely to receive a gift of Hinaningyo, a set os special dolls, from her grandparentsfor this day. These dolls are displayed every year by the family wishing her to grow up in health and safety. On March 3rd, these dolls are feasted with Shirozake, a special white liquor, sweets and peach blossoms. It is also often called the peach festival.
