If you want to hang cabinetry, bolt furniture into place, or install electrical outlets or devices, this contractor-grade tool will save you a lot of time and trouble. Locate rebar, wood or metal studs, joists, pipes or conduit while continuously detecting the presence of unshielded electrical wires with this scanner. The AC detector finds 90-240 volts within 12" of "hot" wire. Use Normal Mode to determine the center of wood or metal studs thorugh drywall up to 3/4" thick (accuracy within 1/8"). Use DeepScan™ mode for drywall, paneling or flooring up to 1-1/2" thick (accuracy to 3/16"). Use Metal Mode to find the center of 1/2" copper pipe through drywall up to 1-1/2" thick, or 1/2" rebar embedded up to 3" deep in concrete. Its oversized LCD is highly visible and the audio indicator make it easy to use. Requires a 9V battery (not included). Weighs just 6 oz.
